Andrew Jackson - President from 1828-1836
This page will examine the life of Andrew Jackson. He was the seventh President of the United States of America. A native from North Carolina, he participated in two of the most controversial elections in the history of the nation in 1824 (which he lost) and 1828 (which he won). Being an outsider, he devoted a majority of his presidency to improving the rights of common people. In order to do this, he was not afraid to hurt others.
